Island Sands is registered with the Care Quality Commission for 64 beds. It comprises a main house, two bungalows, and five flats. The main home's areas are divided into three living spaces, named by our residents in recognition of ships built in the nearby Sheerness dockyard. Seahorse Gardens, located on the ground floor, has 11 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms.

Shearwater Rise is located on the first floor and comprises 18 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms with balconies either overlooking Minster Leas or the home's private Courtyard. Kingfisher Cresent is a ground-floor annexe comprising 15 spacious bedrooms and wide corridors for easy wheelchair access. Kingfisher Cresent has a beautiful conservatory with sea views all year round and access to the garden with raised flower beds and seating for residents to relax and take in the breath-taking views; all three suites have spacious lounges and dining areas with their own satellite kitchens providing easy access to snacks and drinks throughout the day and night.

Residents enjoy a wide range of activities, including Arts and crafts, gardening, DIY, trips out in the home’s minibus, performances from visiting artists, and themed days such as Pirates Day!!

Our in-house catering team prepares nutritious and delicious meals, paying special attention to dietary requirements.
